The research groups of this program maintain various collaborations with other international research groups. This allows most of our doctoral students to carry out international mobility stays for at least three months, which is essential for the thesis to be eligible for the international mention.
Scientific collaborations have been established with European universities and prestigious research centers (Germany, Belgium, France, Holland, Ireland, United Kingdom, among others) and American (Harvard in Boston, New York, Indiana, Emory in Atlanta, etc.) that have facilitated and continue to facilitate the exchange of teachers and mobility stays of students of longer or shorter duration.
In addition, the collaboration with Dr. Michael E. Stern, CEO of the company ImmunEyez LCC, Professor of the Baylor College of Medicine, Cullen Eye Institute (Houston, TX, USA). USA) and Visiting Professor of the Department of Ophthalmology of the University of Cologne (Germany). Professor Stern is also co-director of the research program in inflammatory eye diseases, which is developed at the IOBA, at the University of Valladolid, since 2003. This professor collaborates with the doctorate every year and has received doctoral students with the thesis enrolled in the UVA on two occasions to make short stays in 2010 and 2011.
All these collaborations are evidenced in the joint authorship of various publications.
